  1. 2015 has been a roller coaster of a year with GMO news:

The World Health Organization released results of their study that found glyphosate (the active ingredient in Roundup) to be a probable human carcinogen.

The European Union passed a resolution allowing individual countries to opt out of any EU approvals that would allow planting of GMO crops. Nineteen of the 28-member union filed intent to ban GMO cultivation within their respective territories.

The U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 1599, the “Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act” sponsored by Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-KS). This is also known as the DARK Act –Denying Americans the Right to Know. If passed by the Senate, this legislation will effectively curtail all state-led or other labeling initiatives.

AquaBounty's genetically engineered salmon was approved for consumption by the FDA, but the marketplace is saying “no” as major retailers and restaurants respond to consumer demand.
