What Did You Think Might Happen

Demonstrators in Mexico City express their displeasure with new Arizona anti-immigration law. Let's take a look at this issue.

  • Several earlier amnesties have only served to foster more illegal immigration.

  • [The illegal alien] population in Arizona grew from 330,000 in 2000 to 560,000 by 2008. Now it is 2010.

  • Illegal immigrants commit modestly more crime than average in Arizona.

  • Arizona's immigration reform is gaining allies.

So, naturally, there are people in Mexico who think Arizona's new law is discriminatory. Actually, discrimination can be a positive thing. When we choose the finer things in life we exercise discriminating tastes. To honor and respect those who honor and respect the law distinguishes those who are honorable and respectable.
